Cross Hollows Multi Purpose Center (E,R)

The Cross Hollow Multi-Event Center has become a major player in Cedar City’s summer schedule of attractions.
The Center consists of the indoor Diamond Z Arena and the Iron Ranger Outdoor Arena and is situated in Cross Hollow just west of Cedar City. The facility is equipped with bucking chutes for the outdoor arena and a 300 x 320 foot warming barn with concession stands and 100 stalls for horse boarding.
With a gift from the Iron County Commission, the Center has recently installed bleachers. A paved road has been constructed from U-56 to the Center site, and extends through Cross Hollow to the Providence Center on the south end of Cedar City. A roping chute was recently donated to the facility by the Intermountain Farmers Association.
Several events are scheduled this year at the center, click on our Events Calendar for more information. The Center is part of the Cedar City Parks and Recreation Division and is under the supervision of Bob Tate with Larry Olds as the Center’s manager.
Getting There
The Cross Hollow Events Center is located two miles west of Cedar City in Cross Hollows subdivision. From I-15, take Cedar City center exit #59, onto 200 North (Utah State Highway 56), head west on Hwy. U-56 for about two miles to the Cross Hollows Road (just past Gen Pak Manufacturing), then head south to the facility.

The Hunter Conference Center was constructed around the building's "Great Hall", similar to many halls in Europe and showcasing the beautiful landmark two-story stained glass windows.
The Center has a variety of rooms which afford excellent meeting and dining space. It is especially suitable as a vehicle for drawing together leaders in government, business, industry, and academia. Advanced technological amenities to enhance events of all types are available throughout the Center.
The ballroom encompasses over 10,000 square feet. Six additional meeting rooms, plus a lobby area, vary in size from 800-3,000 square feet, and are available fro breakouts or smaller event functions.
The Hunter Conference Center can accommodate groups up to 500 people, with the option of accommodating larger groups through the combined use of the adjacent Sharwan Smith Center on the Southern Utah University campus.
Meals and Refreshments
As an on-campus facility, the Hunter Conference Center enjoys the full support of the University Food Services Department.
The Center offers a menu which includes a wide array of items: Breakfasts, lunch and dinner selections, buffets, desserts, and refreshments for breaks. Special meals can also be arranged to accommodate specific needs and requests.
Lodging
While there are no lodging facilities at the Hunter Conference Center, lodging can be accommodated at nearby motes, some which are within easy walking distance of the Center.
For some groups, the use of dormitory facilities on campus is an inexpensive option which can be arranged at certain times of the year.
Audiovisual Capabilities
The Hunter Conference Center has an extensive inventory of audiovisual equipment, in addition to on-site technicians to set up and service the equipment. The Center offers flip-charts, easels, high-intensity overhead projectors, slide projectors, VCRs, monitors, LCD panels, and multimedia projectors. The Center also offers a high-quality, built-in sound system, and drop-down screens in each room.
Particularly noteworthy at the Center is the Shooting Star Room, which contains fifteen networked computer stations designed for interactive computer-based training. Included in this room is a SmartBoard, which interfaces with the display computer to provide enhanced on-screen instruction.
Without a doubt, the Hunter Conference Center offers the most sophisticated audiovisual capabilities of any meeting facility in southern Utah.
Guest Services / Amenities
The Hunter Conference Center is staffed by profession coordinators who ensure that room setups are as ordered, and who are available throughout the event to assist with any needs that arise. For events in the Center, the staff can arrange housing, meals, refreshments, audiovisual equipment, room setup, entertainment, tours, and activities.
The Hunter Conference Center offers guests full office support, including access to a fax machine, high-speed copier, phones, and message services.
A full-service registration area and coat room are conveniently located on the main floor.
The Center complies with American Disability Act standards for universal accessibility.
Rates and Reservations
Individual room rates vary depending on the size of the room, but generally range from $40 per day for smaller meeting rooms to $300 per day for the Great Hall.
For large conferences, a single administrative fee for the use of the entire facility, including administrative support, can be determined.
While most of the audiovisual equipment is available without charge, there are nominal charges for the use of LCD panels and multimedia projectors.

Connecting to both the 425 car parking plaza and the beautiful Heritage Center Theater, Festival Hall consists of a large meeting/exhibit room, an attractive board room, a kitchen, storage space, and an area that can be used as one large room for exhibits or divided into seven meeting rooms of various sizes. Available in the lower level of the building is a smaller meeting area which can be used as one large room or divided into four smaller rooms. The Festival Hall is great for groups up to 200 people while the Heritage Theatre can seat over 900.
Cedar City Heritage Performing Arts Theater
The Cedar City Heritage Performing Arts Theater is the crown jewel for the new Heritage Community Center located in Cedar City’s historic downtown. The stunning facility includes many features that make it flexible for the needs of performing groups, conventions and receptions.

Heritage Center Festival Hall
Due to be completed in the summer of 2003, Heritage Center Festival Hall will offer nearly 17,000 square feet of space on the upper floor of the Towne Center. Connecting to both the 450-car parking garage and the beautiful Heritage Center Theater, Festival Hall will have a large meeting/exhibit room, an attractive board room, a small kitchen, storage space, and an area that can be used as one large room for special exhibits or divided into seven meeting rooms of various size.
Accessibility

The Iron County Fairgrounds in Parowan feature an outdoor rodeo arena with covered grandstands, a practice or warm-up arena, a covered pavilion with concession stand, a race track, a large exhibition building with kitchen facilities, horse stables, plenty of grassy areas and large parking areas. The equestrian complex is available for small and large event activities such as rodeos, mud bogging competitions, outdoor and indoor concerts, horse shows and races, product exhibitions, festival events, weddings, family reunions, business parties, etc.
Parowan City Corporation operates and maintains the Fairgrounds and Parowan Equestrian Center .
This complex features an outdoor rodeo arena with covered grandstands, a practice or warm-up arena, a covered pavilion with concession stand, a race track, a large exhibition building with kitchen facilities, horse stables, plenty of grassy areas and large parking areas.

Parowan City Corp. handles requests for reserving all or any part of the equestrian complex. There is a building rental fee and refundable cleaning deposit required for using the exhibition building referred to as the Fairgrounds building. There is a rental fee for use of the horse stables. There are no fees for using the other areas of the complex, but reservations are required as there is a high demand for use of the facilities throughout the year

Located just minutes from downtown Cedar City on Highway 14, the Mountain Center is easily accessible the year around and has parking space to accommodate large groups. This 6,000 square foot facility includes spacious meeting rooms, and pavilions, indoor and outdoor cooking facilities, a large kitchen, and five bedrooms, plus a roomy loft. Situated on a 2,800 acre ranch, the Mountain Center also offers a secluded amphitheater suitable for open-air presentations in a beautiful alpine setting.
The Mountain Center is truly an uncommon meeting place...a secluded world apart, a private place free of city distractions, yet expertly supported by the SUU Conference Services staff. The Sharwan Smith Center offers the largest combined meeting space under one roof in Cedar City . The 10,000 square foot ballroom and surrounding meeting rooms offer a southwestern ambiance and provide excellent exhibit, meeting and dining space. In addition, the SUU Centrum Arena can be accessed by an enclosed walkway from the Smith Center for combined large group events and exhibits .

The rolling hills and volcanic rock formations at Three Peaks provide a fantastic location for picnicking, camping, bike riding and off- road vehicle use. Three Peaks features several picnic areas with tables, fire rings and restroom facilities. There’s also a large parking area with a gated entrance for large groups and events. Iron County and the Bureau of Land Management have teamed up to develop the Three Peaks Recreation Area west of Cedar City. The rolling hills and volcanic rock formations at Three Peaks provide a fantastic location for picnicking, camping, bike riding and off- road vehicle use.
Three Peaks features several picnic areas with tables, fire rings and restroom facilities. There’s also a large parking area with a gated entrance for large groups and events. Getting There
Three Peaks Recreation Area is located approximately 10 miles west of Cedar City . From I-15 Center Exit #59, head west on Hwy. U-56 for about three miles to Lund Highway, head north for about five miles to Mid-Valley Rd, turn west onto a good gravel road for about two miles to the Three Peaks parking lot.

Take Cedar City exit #62 and turn west towards Enoch. Turn left at the bowling alley on 3000 N. Drive west one mile and turn right onto Bulldog Rd. Turn right into Willow Glen at 3308 N Bulldog Rd.

Situated in a lush aspen and pine forest, Woods Ranch is a great place to picnic, hike and fish. Kid’s Pond, a popular fishing spot for the southern Utah ’s youth is located on the upper section of recreation area. Woods Ranch has picnic tables, fire rings, restroom facilities, and a volleyball court. Two covered pavilions are available for group gatherings when reserved in advance.
Just 12 miles east of Cedar City along scenic highway U-14, is the recreation area known as Woods Ranch. Operated by Iron County, the park is designed to be a high country haven for the Iron County residents and their friend’s to enjoy.
Situated in a lush aspen and pine forest, Woods Ranch is a great place to picnic, hike and fish. The trailhead for the 32 mile Virgin River Rim trail is located at Wood’s Ranch. Kid’s Pond, a popular fishing spot for the southern Utah’s youth is located on the upper section of recreation area. Children 12 and under can fish for free as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid Utah fishing license.

Overnight camping is not permitted at Woods Ranch, however, the Cedar Canyon Campground is located nearby. Contact the Dixie National Forest for camping information at 435-865-3200.
Getting There
From Cedar City’s Main Street, head east on Center Street. Center Street heads into Cedar Canyon and becomes Scenic Highway U-14. Follow U-14 for approximately 12 miles to the Woods Ranch turnoff on the right.
